Piwik 2.8.0 是 Piwik 主要更新版本，集中关注系统的可靠性，可用性和安全性。此版本一共有 12 位贡献者，关闭了 57 个 tickets。

Piwik 2.8.0 不包括任何重要的数据库升级，解决了Adel KHALDI 通过 Security Bug Bounty program 提交的一个 XSS 安全问题。此版本包括重大的 API 改进 (修改了 `Auth` 接口)，API deprecations，新 API 特性 (Pivot table in the API via `pivotBy`, `pivotByColumn`, `pivotByColumnLimit`), 库更新（AngularJS 更新），新命令（`generate:angular-directive`），内部改进（Piwik 现在要求PHP 5.3.3）。
